Putting people first through meaningful giving and hands-on support.
At PGLS, we believe that true success is measured not only by business achievements but also by the positive impact we create in the communities we serve. Through the PGLS Cares Foundation, our philanthropic arm, we are dedicated to promoting equity, economic development, and safety by supporting vulnerable and underserved population
To strengthen and transform the communities in which we live and work by advancing equity, commerce, and security through dedicated volunteerism and strategic grant-making.
To operationalize PGLS’s commitment to promoting equity, commerce, and security by facilitating impactful social action and philanthropy that aligns with PGLS’s core values of respect, responsibility, and results.
Led by our CEO, Mohamed Hussein, PGLS Cares is deeply committed to making a real difference. Our efforts focus on providing support to immigrants and refugees, children and youth, and other marginalized communities.
Whether through volunteering, grantmaking, or partnerships with organizations that share our values, every initiative is driven by the belief that every person deserves access, opportunity, and protection.
At PGLS, we go beyond the typical corporate social responsibility. Our philanthropy is grounded in a genuine love for humanity, inspired by Mohamed’s personal journey as the son of immigrants. His story motivates us to give back to the communities that have supported us, and his passion for service is woven into everything we do. From his volunteer work to his role as a youth mentor and nonprofit board chair, Mohamed’s leadership is a living example of our commitment.
We promote a culture of volunteerism at PGLS through paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO), team initiatives, and celebrating the independent efforts of our team members. Through platforms like Uncommon Giving, our team members share their favorite causes and direct corporate dollars to support these efforts.
On June 6th, 2025, the Nairobi team partnered with HDF Kenya for the Eid al-Adha Qurbani initiative, volunteering to distribute sacrificial meat to underserved communities in Kawangware, Kibera, and the Sudanese Complex. In line with the Islamic tradition of Qurbani, the effort ensured that at least one-third of the meat reached vulnerable families.
